Larry "Bone Collector" Williams

I’ve been watching street ball players and (and 1) players for more than thirty years. Throughout the years, I’ve seen countless amounts of unbelievable and outstanding basketball players whom I admire and wish I could play against without them embarrassing me on the court.

One player that I’ve admired over the years and continue to this date is Larry Williams AKA (Bone Collector), nick named for making his opponent fall on the ground time and time again (making your opponent fall on the ground in a basketball game is great bragging rights for any offensive player and very embarrassing for any defender). Bone achieves this feat countless amounts of time in live games, YouTube videos and other media outlets.

In May of 2018 while working in Springfield Massachusetts, at the basketball hall of fame, Bone Collector, to my surprise, walked out the building. I was awestruck by his presence and couldn’t believe my childish behavior in meeting him… We chatted it up, he signed an autograph, and showed me how to do his signature hesitation move before he had to run to his next venue.

I have met a lot of NBA players and I’m usually very reserved upon meeting these guys, but meeting Bone Collector was obviously a great treat for me. Now, hopefully some day I’ll get a chance to play against him.
